Dry ice is solid carbon dioxide (CO2) at approximately -78.5°C (-109.3°F). It is used for cooling and freezing purposes, as well as in cleaning processes known as dry ice blasting. Dry ice blasting is a non-abrasive cleaning method that uses solid carbon dioxide (dry ice) pellets propelled by compressed air
